Dr Eduard Serrano: “It’s a privilege to be part of Sant Cugat’s business ecosystem”

We speak with Dr Eduardo Serrano, Medical Director of Integrative Medicine and Natural Supplementation, and Núria Castellano, a Gestalt body therapist and specialist in trauma and somatics, about the company they have created together, Inout Renasci, as well as their experience of being based at the SC Trade Center facilities.

How did the idea to create Inout Renasci come about?

We live in a society that has learnt to normalise stress, exhaustion, emotional disconnection and a lack of meaning. Many people are functioning, but not living. They carry on while their body, emotions or health are trying to tell a story that has yet to be heard. This is why Inout Renasci was born: a space where integrative medicine, humanistic therapy, bodywork and an understanding of the nervous system come together to offer a more complete view of health. A view that understands that behind many symptoms lies a life story, a way of living, relating and adapting to the world.

What types of companies do you work with?

We support individuals, teams and organisations that want to go beyond the mere management of distress. We work with processes of anguish, stress, burnout, trauma, sleep disturbances, digestive imbalances and relational difficulties, but also with people who simply feel they have lost touch with themselves and are losing their passion and motivation. Our unique strength is the genuine integration of Dr Eduard Serrano’s medical perspective and Núria Castellano’s expertise in emotional regulation and human development. We don’t just add disciplines; we build bridges between them. We know that the future of health is not about treating each problem in isolation, but about understanding the person as a living system where body, mind, emotions, relationships and biology are part of the same story. When a person understands the unconscious intelligence that lies behind many of their actions and sensations, they stop fighting against them. And it is then that the true process of transformation begins.

How do you apply this therapy to combat stress and anxiety?

We combine a trauma-specialised therapeutic approach with integrative medicine to address stress, anxiety and emotional impact from the root cause: the nervous system. We offer this in-person and online, and also in the form of talks and group work tailored for specific groups. If a team, community or institution needs something more than information, we would be delighted to design a bespoke intervention. We cater to companies and teams with high levels of stress or burnout, educational institutions and parents’ associations, healthcare and social institutions, emergency services and emotionally demanding professions, and associations seeking to make a real impact on well-being and nervous system regulation. We cover topics such as anxiety and the nervous system, burnout and emotional exhaustion, emotional regulation in high-pressure environments, family emotional health and illness, and connection and relationships.

How has your sector evolved in recent years?

The emotional health sector has grown a great deal in recent years. There is a growing awareness of the relationship between the body, emotions, habits and health, but we also find ourselves faced with an excess of motivational talk that is often not backed up by real-world experience or applied evidence. Social media has made knowledge accessible to many people and has made it easier to spread simplified messages about deeply complex human issues.

What is the main distinguishing feature of Inout Renasci?

The main distinguishing feature is that we have united medicine and emotional health by sharing a common humanistic vision for each person’s well-being, offering patients and professionals top-quality scientific material to address the comprehensive treatment of health effectively.

For too long we have separated that which was never meant to be separated. The mind from the body. Emotion from biology. The therapy of medicine. The personal history of physical symptoms. Sometimes the body remains on alert after many circumstances that called for it—work-related, family and personal—and often the nervous system has not been able to rest. In these cases, inflammation, sleep, the microbiota, hormones and emotional memory continue to speak silently.

We must learn to regulate it at every level to prevent falling ill or to restore health if we have already become ill. At Inout Renasci we know that the symptom is not an enemy; it is a language. A language that asks to be listened to with science. We come to look at the whole. A person is not just what they think. They are also what their body remembers. The experiences that its nervous system protects. What its biology adapts to. What its heart has not yet been able to process. Our mission is to open a new perspective on human suffering: More integrative, More rigorous, More sensitive, More courageous. And where emotion does not replace medicine, but rather dialogues with it.

How would you rate the experience of working in a business centre like this?

It is a privilege to be part of the business ecosystem of Sant Cugat del Vallès. We share with this municipality the conviction that true progress is not measured solely by results but also by people’s health, emotional well-being and creative development. Human growth is the mission that inspires us every day, and the SC Trade Center offers us a wealth of services at our disposal. Reception, security, a cafeteria, parking, a great atmosphere and activities. It is a location that is growing and expanding, close to dining and transport areas.

Is there any service, space or aspect of the Trade that you find particularly useful for your day-to-day work?

The conference rooms for running workshops and presentations.

Has being part of a business community like the one at the SC Trade Center helped you to generate new business opportunities?

Yes, working in a business centre with a dynamic environment that champions talent, innovation and development has enabled us to establish new professional connections. We have introduced our project to individuals and organisations who share the importance of workers’ physical and emotional health for a company’s success.
